Overview:
Our client is a manufacturing company in Little Rock, Arkansas. They are looking for a Logistics Manager to lead and optimize all inbound and outbound transportation activities. This role focuses on managing shipments via barge, rail, and truck to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of materials and finished products.
Main Responsibilities:
- Direct and coordinate the flow of goods and materials throughout the supply chain
- Develop and maintain partnerships with freight carriers, including barge, rail, and trucking companies
- Handle freight rate negotiations and evaluate carrier performance metrics
- Oversee shipping documentation and ensure compliance with all transportation regulations
- Utilize logistics software (ERP and TMS) to monitor shipments and provide status updates
- Identify opportunities to lower costs, increase efficiency, and enhance delivery timelines
Requirements:
- 5–7 years of experience in logistics, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment
- In-depth understanding of inland barge and rail transport operations
- Proficient in using ERP and transportation management systems
- Strong interpersonal, analytical, and supplier management abilities
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related discipline (or equivalent practical experience)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of port logistics or transloading operations
- Experience with international shipping procedures and export documentation
- Relevant certifications in logistics or process improvement, such as Lean or Six Sigma
*This position is located in Little Rock, Arkansas. Remote or hybrid work is not available. A relocation bonus is offered to assist with the move.
