Perform relay protection testing, interpretation of test records, and maintenance in relay vaults across Florida, including both electromechanical and numerical relays.
Oversee all facets of high-voltage generation, transmission, and distribution apparatus operation, protection, control, testing, and commissioning.
Position: Lead Relay Technician (800 Hours | Temp-to-Hire)
Travel: Statewide across Florida; per diem applies if travel exceeds 60 miles Base Location: Kissimmee, FL 34758
Pay: $65- $77 DOE
Per Diem: ~$57/day (standard), ~$45 (final day)
Hotel: Paid by employer
Company Vehicle: Driving Company vehicle. Must have a clean driving record.
Qualifications:
• 10+ years verifiable relay technician experience (lead-level)
• Expertise in relay vault work across HV generation, transmission & distribution
• Strong background in NERC CIP compliance and document control
• Skilled in relay protection testing, record interpretation, and schematic reading
• Proficient in electromechanical and numerical relay testing
• Experienced in all aspects of substation construction, testing, and commissioning
• Demonstrated commitment to safety and human performance
• Willing to travel statewide with a team player mindset
• Strong communication skills; bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus
