Job Summary
We are seeking a Forensic Evidence Handling Technician to join our team in Dallas, TX. This is a highly visible onsite role (5 days per week onsite) that involves supporting litigation and investigations through records management, forensic evidence handling, and e-discovery tasks. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, database experience, and a detail-oriented mindset. This position may require occasional travel to client or storage vendor sites, as well as overtime when needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Support electronic data discovery evidence collection efforts.
- Execute project requirements and provide regular status updates.
- Work with forensic hardware and litigation software to support deliverables.
- Collaborate with the Forensics team on e-discovery collections, project reviews, and data searches.
- Maintain strict media chain of custody following computer forensics and e-discovery best practices.
- Use document review platforms such as Relativity, ETS, RAX, and Equinix.
- Assist attorneys and paralegals with document review tools.
- Receive, organize, and track media using proprietary database technology.
- Troubleshoot data issues and carry out complex evidence handling tasks.
- Ensure compliance with records management policies and procedures.
- Assist with inventory, storage, and maintenance of records at off-site storage facilities.
- Provide support for office moves, restacks, and special projects.
- Acquire and archive handheld devices including laptops, tablets, and smartphones.
- Assist with annual retention compliance review process.
- Train and mentor staff on records management procedures and systems as needed.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of related experience in records management, forensics, or litigation support.
- High school diploma required; some college education or equivalent work experience preferred.
- Strong database experience and proficiency with MS Excel and Outlook.
- Knowledge of forensic evidence handling and chain of custody procedures.
- Familiarity with document review platforms (e.g., Relativity, ETS, RAX, Equinix).
- Ability to lift 35–50 lbs (moderate to heavy lifting).
- Exceptional communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed and travel occasionally.
