KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversee the estimating departments at Metro & ViewPoint
Review estimates and bid proposals for the estimators/sales in a timely manner while keeping profitability and ability to fabricate/install top of mind
Review design packages and discuss manufacturing and install details with Sales staff
Interface with shop staff for input on materials to be used for new designs and labor estimates for quotes
Solicit and review pricing from qualified vendors and subcontractors
Review and discuss pricing specifications with designers to ensure estimate is consistent with the shop drawing
C ommunicate to Sales team any changes to original fabrication specifications
Meet with suppliers, concerning new technologies and materials available
Attend meetings with Sales and Design, offering alternative options for the manufacture of signs. Provide value-engineering options as necessary
Regularly look for cost-saving alternatives related to materials, supplies or outsourced labor

QUALIFICATIONS

Sign estimating experience required, awning estimating is a plus
Excellent organizational skills for a fast-paced environment, able to handle numerous estimates/bids at one time
Must be able to work in a team environment
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Strong mathematic and engineering aptitude
Understand building codes and structural, electrical and mechanical design concepts
Attention to detail
High level of computer skills and working knowledge of industry standard software programs
Time management skills with a high sense of urgency
Ability to prioritize multiple demands
Solid knowledge of Excel
