What You’ll Do
- Prescription Processing & Data Entry – verify orders, enter patient and third-party information into the pharmacy platform, and resolve adjudication issues to keep workflows moving.
- Medication Preparation – pre-package, label, and stage medications under a pharmacist’s direct supervision, following state and federal regulations for accuracy and safety.
- Final Check Support – present filled prescriptions for pharmacist review, then seal, bag, and coordinate timely delivery to facilities and at-home patients.
- Inventory Excellence – receive shipments, rotate stock, track lot numbers/expirations, and participate in quarterly physical counts to reduce waste and ensure full compliance.
- Quality & Compliance – keep work areas and equipment clean, calibrated, and OSHA-ready; document all activities in accordance with USP, DEA, and board of pharmacy standards.
- Team Collaboration – partner with technician and filling supervisors to improve procedures, share best practices, and mentor new hires on safe dispensing habits.
Schedule & Compensation
- Shifts: Thursday – Monday (choose 8 AM–4:30 PM, 9 AM–5:30 PM, or 10 AM–6:30 PM); 100 % commitment to the assigned schedule is required.
- Competitive compensation based on experience and active certifications.
- Contract Length: Through September 21, 2025, with a strong likelihood of direct-hire conversion for high performers.
What You Bring
- Active Maine Pharmacy Technician License in good standing (required).
- National certification (PTCB or ExCPT) strongly preferred.
- 6+ months of hands-on experience in retail, institutional, mail-order, or long-term-care pharmacy.
- Working knowledge of pharmacy information systems, third-party billing, and basic medical terminology.
- Dependable, team-oriented attitude with the flexibility to adapt to shifting priorities.
- Commitment to patient safety, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
