About the Company:
My client is a nationally recognized general contractor with $300M in annual revenue, specializing in large-scale public works, commercial, and institutional projects. Known for their commitment to quality and client satisfaction, they are seeking a driven Assistant Project Manager to join the team for a landmark $100M public works project.
Role Overview:
The Assistant Project Manager (APM) will support the Project Manager and field teams in executing the day-to-day activities of a major public works project. This individual will play a key role in coordinating subcontractors, managing project documentation, and ensuring schedules and budgets are maintained.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Project Manager with overall project management duties from preconstruction through closeout.
- Coordinate subcontractor activities and maintain strong communication across project teams.
- Monitor project schedules, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and punch lists.
- Track project costs and budgets to ensure financial targets are achieved.
- Support contract administration, including compliance with public works requirements.
- Maintain project documentation and reporting for internal and client use.
- Conduct site visits and support field supervision as needed.
- Help manage safety programs in coordination with the site team.
- Interface with owners, architects, engineers, and public agencies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- 2–5 years of construction experience, ideally with public works, infrastructure, or large commercial projects.
- Strong understanding of project management software (Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, or similar).
- Knowledge of public sector project regulations and requirements is a plus.
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary range: $100,000 – $115,000 based on experience
