About the Role
We’re seeking an Assistant Plant Manager to join our team at a leading silicas manufacturing facility in Westlake, LA. In this high-impact leadership role, you’ll work alongside the Plant Manager to drive production efficiency, ensure product quality, maintain the highest safety standards, and lead continuous improvement initiatives.

What You’ll Do
- Assist in managing all plant operations – including production, maintenance, quality, and safety.
- Supervise and mentor teams to achieve high performance.
- Oversee production scheduling to meet customer demands and ensure on-time delivery.
- Lead continuous improvement projects using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
- Monitor and analyze production metrics (yield, throughput, downtime, quality) and report results to leadership.
- Work with Maintenance and Engineering to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
- Ensure regulatory compliance in environmental, health, and safety practices.
- Support budgeting, cost control, and capital project implementation .
- Collaborate across departments (QA, Engineering, Maintenance, Logistics) to align on goals.
- Lead training initiatives to build team skills in Lean, Six Sigma, and operational best practices .
- Participate in leadership meetings and strategic planning discussions.
What We’re Looking For
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Minerals / Manufacturing preferred).
- 5+ years of leadership experience in manufacturing operations (silicas, minerals, or chemicals preferred).
- Proven supervisory experience in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
- Strong communication and presentation skills at all organizational levels.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma (certification preferred).
- Proficiency in SAP, DCS, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and compliance.
Preferred:
- Silicas manufacturing experience.
- Ability to speak and translate Polish .
